The conservatives say they are pro-life(against abortion) on one hand but then with the other hand they are ready for(War)Iraq.

The Liberals are pro-choice(for abortion) but then with the other hand they advocate (Peace)Iraq.

Pro-Life+ War= Conservatism

Pro-choice+Peace= Liberalism

The correct balance should be: Pro-life+Peace= Democracy

I hope you are asking this question in seriousness, not trying to create a discussion on your point of view. But here is the serious answer. "Conservative" means to "keep things as they are; to protect from harm; to avoid waste." "Liberal" means "to give freely; to be free from rules."
Thus, a political conservative is trying to maintain the status quo--keep things as they now are. This is good in a time of peace--keeping the peace--but in a time of war, it means that they are willing to fight to get things back to what they consider "normal." Often in politics, a conservative is considered one who has some pre-conceived notion of right and wrong, and will take political action to keep the nation "doing right," as they define it. So, when attacked (as in the Jihadists attacking the US on September 11, 2001, or the Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941) then the conservatives respond by fighting: War. A liberal on the other hand says that we should be free from rules that guide ourselves, or coerce others to accept our ideology. Therefore, if someone attacks us, we probably deserved it, we should listen to their views, change our attitudes to better grasp our detractors stand, and live in a more peaceful world, willing to accept the ideas of others: Peace.
A Conservative says, "Life is Sacred", and is opposed to abortion. A Liberal says, "Life is for the living", and believes no woman should be forced to be a mother if they don't want to be. A Conservative says, "A convicted felon may deserve the death penalty under certain circumstances (which sounds like they are against life); while a Liberal says, "No one should be killed by a government."
These basic differences in the way an individual looks at these political realities aren't any different now than it was 2,000 years ago when some political leaders believed that Jesus of Nazareth should be killed to keep the peace in the region (a conservative line of thought) and others that thought ("I find no fault in him") like Pilot who made a political statement of washing his hands of the affair. The Romans were the liberals, and the Jewish Sanhedrin were the conservatives.
Jihadists believe it is okay to kill all your enemies. Christians profess that you should "love your enemies."
Democracy has nothing to do with either. Democracy has to do with "the will of the people;" Whatever the united people want, should be done. The problem is, the people of the United States are not united on what should be done in either case (the war, or abortion, or life.) And, remember American's don't live in a democracy. Americans don't live under a "majority rules" system. America is a Republic. Under a republic, people are elected to make decisions on behalf of those who elect them. The hope is that you would choose people who would think like you do.
Finally, all the candidates running on both parties are opposed to war. They all believe war is a bad ideology, that is only entered into upon serious provocation, and to remove an ultimate danger. The difference in the candidates on war is whether this particular war (against terrorism) should be waged in Iraq. Some believe it should move to find Osama Bin Laden. Some believe it should move to Iran. Some believe it should be stopped until we are again attacked. Some believe that it is too expensive. Some believe that it is better to be fighting in Iraqi soil, than on US soil. Some believe . . . well, that's where each candidate differs greatly. None--not one--believes that war (or killing) is good. Although all of them believe that war sometimes is necessary. You can't be the President of the United States, and Commander-in-Chief, without believing war might be necessary. How much war the people can tolerate, how much killing is necessary to preserve peace, or how much money should be spent to carry a war out is the great differentiater in this poltical race.

"Pro-life+Peace= Democracy" If only it were that simple...
Not to put too fine of a point on it, there is a HUGE difference between killing an innocent, unborn child and fighting an enemy whose primary objective is our total annihilation. The two cannot be compared fairly.
Our enemy doesn't care if we're red or blue, they will wipe us all off the map given the chance. Even those who are welcoming the terrorists with open arms by trying so desperately to appease our enemy while crippling our national defense and military.
Most conservatives aren't afraid of a fight--we genuinely desire to make our country safer. How do the "Peace man" and "Make love, not war" mentalities of the 60's protect our great nation? That's not peace, it's avoidance.

P.S.
Brilliant response, LorenzoAE! Thank you for being so informed, elloquent, and fair.

Conservatives are not ALL pro life or for war
Liberals are not ALL pro choice or against war
To lump everyone of a particular party into one little category would not allow you to see the complexities of the American mind.
More often than not we ALL have a little streak of the other party in us (even if we would absolutely cut our own tongue out before admitting it lol)

an exceedingly smart youthful guy as quickly as suggested, "Liberals love freedom of speech, different than whilst somebody else has the microphone." Liberals continuously let us know to no longer be judgmental, yet they are the cruelest and maximum cruel judges in the international in case you flow their fragile little barriers. in case you're saying something that offends somebody, liberals throw stones at you and supply you outrageous accusations of being "judgmental," "racist," and so on., even however you have been completely harmless and did no longer mean any harm via it. If liberals have been fairly the non-judgmental, tolerant saints that they declare they are, they could exhibit their war of words with you in a well mannered way, mutually as acknowledging your sturdy intentions, no longer mercilessly throwing stones at you and treating you like a sadist. So, the respond on your question is a strong NO, liberals do no longer practice variety and tolerance. they are irrational hypocrites and psychological heretics who thinks of words of the fake dichotomy of "the two you're with us or against us."

conservatives apparently believe in "justice"...pro-life being a fight against injustice and waging war is a fight against more injustice...in both schemes there is a "villain" and a "hero"...(a woman killing her child and a nation killing another nation)...

liberals apparently believe in freedom and that life is filled with choices...a woman should have the "right" to abort her child and we as a nation should "stand by" and watch another nation destroy another nation, because that is their decision and who are "we" to step in and tell them what to do.

Don't be confused. Removing our troops from Iraq and advocating peace are two totally different things.

of course pro-war people are against abortion, they need all the people they can get to fight in the wars! It's their form of population control, Anti-war people prefer to control the population in other ways.
