My father never called in sick to work, so I had to be a complete invalid before I could call in sick from school. I have no kids, so I can't attest to the Lourdes-like miracle of the school bus.

My wife always had them dressed, just in case the miracle cure took place and the ignition keys already in the car.

Actually.. when I was younger the only way we were getting out of school is if we had been throwing up. I'd lie and say that I had been throwing up and I would lay around in bed all day long!

I take my child to school, he's usually dying all the way there. Monday he wanted to miss cause he was afraid our new puppy would feel neglected if he left him and said all the worrying was giving him the diarrhea
