That's because of our own foolishness ,we knew how to act good ,we knew that an african is not a monkey ,we knew that a women is the same as men ,a human being ,we knew that life was a blessing that no one ever imagined how magnificent it is ,we knew that without the environment ,we will dead ,and the list goes on ,But we act like we don't know ,we act like we are blind and deaf ,i'm sorry ,so sorry ,but sometimes ,animal is easily to be taught than any "smart" human being

And those are just the acceptable things we do...
I think generalizing the human race isn't a good thing either. Not everyone is committing
Cruelty to animals, racism, exploitation of women, violence, killing the environment
Some of us try to actually be an asset to this earth.
Next time you see someone doing one of these things ask them why. Chances are they are too ignorant to give you a good answer. Telling them to stop would be like telling your 3 year old to leave the candy alone. They won't.
So the answer to your question would be... SOME humans do this because they are stupid.

Too much attention is given to such people. Too much time and money spent trying to 'define' someones actions by attributing violence to some sort of disease. (ooh..he can't help it...he's got something wrong with his ...blahblahblah) Not everyone who drinks has a disease. Not every man who beats his wife deserves to have a medical condition assigned to his name. Some people are just born bad. Period.
By the way, savagery isn't new to the world. Go back and read the history books. It started long before today. I agree with you, it is unsettling to think about the direction the world is taking. We were all born free spirits, remember? I suppose this scenario was one of many possible outcomes.

In my opinion we have the ability to choose what path we will take. I believe we all have the potential for good or bad. It seems the social environment we are living in today is swaying towards those things of which you speak however if we look at ancient societies it was much worse.
One of the things that attracts me to Christ teachings is the golden rule. Treat others as you would want to be treated.
Also the hippy movement in the 60's and 70's favored love and community. Today it seems owning guns and fighting for your little spot on earth and exploiting for money is what the mainstream is in favor of.
Kinder and gentler is better.

Unfortunately we are savage by nature and live for self satisfaction.
Jeffrey...go live in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, etc. You will see the true nature of evil.
If you do not like America...get the hell out!
America is still the greatest country in the world. I have some serious issues about the govt, but your comments are absurd, and you are as mentally twisted as the terrorists themselves. It is a shame that you continue to waste oxygen by breathing it.
Unlike you, I HAVE been to Australia and would say that in all of the places I have been (which includes Japan, many places in Europe, throughout Canada and Mexico, Santiago, Egypt) I would put Australia as the second best country in the world.
Now, for you to say "open your eyes, dude" without getting your information anywhere than from the media, I would say that you are speaking of what you do not understand, and you really should refrain.

Unfortunately, its not going to stop because all of the atrocities that you mentioned have one common denominator. It is making money for someone. As long as it is making money for someone it will continue because of greed. You may not be able to readily see how it all relates to financial gain but it is my opinion that all atrocities can be linked to financial gain. Many scientists believe that men for the most part are motivated by only three things: Money, Power, and Sex. In addition, I have heard it said that men try to acquire the first two just to get the third! Knowing this and the fact that the majority of societies in the world are patriarchal in nature, it should be no surprise that all of these atrocities continue to happen. Technology constantly advances but socially humans have not evolved for probably centuries.

There is true concern in your thought. We must search for true meaning and begin to contribute to a change at the vote power level and at the personal level with the victims of those atrocities that we know by name. We probably will never see the utopian world but we can make a difference in someone's life.

forget religion,we humans are just another species, animals kill for food or protection.humans kill for food and for protection.humans have refined this trait to kill for pleasure advantage, gain and superiority over other humans.example,in the last two centuries, first there was flight, humans found that fitting a gun or a bomb to a plane could be used to kill other humans,a car could be fitted with tracks, fitted with a cannon and could be used to kill humans,a metal ship could be fitted with guns and aircraft to kill humans.then came rockets, they could be fitted with explosives to kill humans, split the atom could be modified to kill humans by the hundreds of thousands.most of all human inventions from bows and arrows, gunpowder and even germs are modified to kill humans by humans,we are afterall the most superior species on this planet,we can and will do what we want,we can and will be cruel to animals,we will be racist,we will exploit women,we will be violent,we will kill the enviroment, why?because as a superior species,we can. if you wan't to bring religon into it,who put us here?

I love animals, especially those little cute mices. I also love the environment since I enjoy beautiful sceneries. If I choose to be savage, I will be savage against humans since they are pathetic species (even though I am also a human, and I am not proud of that).

Evolution. We evolved from animals and much of what we are is still very much an animal. We have irrational, violent impulses and emotional and instinctual drivers that are much stronger than our ability to reason and rationalize. The animal side gets the better of us all at times.
