Although it seems like a fittingly appropriate ending, people tend to forget that the genre of books J.K. Rowling is writing still fit into the childrens' category. Genre, as any author will tell you, dictates a good deal of what makes it into the book and what gets left out. Rowling is able to be so consistently successful because she has gracefully molded several different childrens' genres into the Harry Potter books. Not only are readers engrossed by the magic, but we have an English Boarding School, an orphan, an evil antagonist, a cruel father figure (Vernon Dursley), and quite a lot of other successful genres. The key rule of thumb for childrens' books, however, is that the protagonist does not die. Very rarely will you read a childrens' book in which the main character dies at the end. It just doesn't fit the genre she's followed for the last six books. Rowling is a smart woman and knows what shes doing; I truly can't imagine her disregarding the genre that's made her so popular and successful!

After using Harry’s blood to restore Voldemort to his physical body, Voldemort touches Harry’s skin just to prove that he can now touch Harry without harming himself. That’s why Dumbledore had “gleam of something that looked like triumph in [his] eye.” Because he knew Voldemort would over look this ancient magic just like he did the first time. That’s why Dumbledore “looked as old and weary as Harry had ever seen him” just seconds later. Because Dumbledore knew what he would have to do to protect Harry. Dumbledore willingly gave up his own life to protect Harry. And after Harry has destroyed all the other Horcruxes, he will face Voldemort. Harry will put up a valiant fight. But, in the end, Voldemort will overpower him. And, when Voldemort tries to kill Harry by using Avada Kedavra, the spell will backfire – just like it did when Harry was a baby. But, this time, there won’t be any remaining Horcruxes to help Voldemort return.

I'm thinking about what will happen in DH is maybe both Harry and Voldemort will die. This is only a guess, maybe Harry will sacrifice himself in order to defeat Voldemort, why? because i think one of Voldermort Horcrux is Harry's "lightning" scar on his head. Well, just a guess.
But im hoping Harry won't die.. besides, there's no children book that a hero/protagonist dies.
Peace! =D

i do and dont think this
it would make a really good and interesting ending but extreamly sad
i would like to add a question directed toward those who think harry is a horcrux
Why does voldemort keep trying to kill Harry if "he's a horcurx" voldemort isnt that dumb, why would he destroy a part of his own soul?...
think about it...

It is an interesting idea. Personally, I don't think it will happen. JKR and the fans of the books have too much emotionally invested for the series to end like that.

I will note that it would not be contrary to the prophesy which does not say that either will survive, only that both cannot live.

First of all HARRY CAN't DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It would mess up the book. It would be twisted if, in order to kill voldemort, he must kill Ginny.

I believe they're both going to die, but I don't know what I think of the circumstances.

No, I don't think so. I know the end isn't suppose to be what we are expecting. But I don't think it will be Harry that dies.
