What do you think about Cali outlawing plastic shopping bags! I think it's great!

yes i did. I didn't know Cali did that. That means 10 years from now Nebraska will do the same, lol.

I didn't know anything about the Yahoo earth-friendly tote bag! I would like one!How do I get one? I don't know what I would do though if they outlawed plastic garbage bags. I use small ones because I am disabled and live in an apt. that has a rule that all trash must be tied up in a plastic bag and tossed down the garbage chute. I do understand the problem with the plastic not breaking down in the land fills and causing a problem with the ozone and contributing to global warming.So I hope that the states come up with an alternative for trash bags. I can use cloth totes for trips to the supermarket.

Yes, I did. The only problem I have with outlawing plastic bags is, I shop once a month. I will need about 20 cloth bags to do my shopping. That's not cheap. I plan on gradually getting them but, it will take me a while.

Suprisingly, though I'm a conservative who wouldn't qualify myself as a "tree-hugger", I *did* sign up for the Yahoo! earth-friendly tote bag. And I intend to use it.
I think that California is creating more problems by solving others. Now we'll have to cut down more trees to make more paper bags.
The bottom line is this: We just aren't going to be able to LEGISLATE people into doing the right things. We'll have to do them voluntarily or it isn't going to work.

I just did! I also think its great to outlaw the plastic bags too! Everytime we go fishing, I catch more of them plastic bags than I so fish!

Yes I did. And I think it will greatly improve the amount of pollution that makes it into the ocean. Those bags kill many aquatic creatures each year!
