After being in a cast for 7 weeks, assuming non weight-bearing, you will feel the pain in your heel because that is the first part of your foot you step on, with your weight. You may have inflamed the plantar fascia tendon. Start by taking Ibuprofen 800mg three times per day and do stretches to help loosen the tightness of the tendon. Hope this helps, good luck.

The muscles have weakened by being in a cast. It's going to take time to strengthen the muscles and get everything Functioning correctly. You should be in physical therapy on a daily basis after having the cast removed. Call your medical doctor and ask what can be done to help you along.
