Chipper Jones... Everybody knows he is a great power hitter (probably one of the best switch-hitters ever), but he can also do the little things like advance runners and hit for a high average. He is also is a much better third baseman then people think. He plays hard, he's clutch, he doesn't have a lot of controversy around him and he leads by example.

Unlike most people, my favorite player hasn't changed since Omar Vizquel came into the league. He is my favorite player of all time. Omar is a class act who has not let his status go to his head. He is possibly the best defensive shortstop to ever play the game. I have heard the debate about will he or won't he make the Hall of Fame. If he doesn't, then it would be doing baseball fans a great injustice. Ozzie Smith is in the hall for being the same type of player. Except that Vizquel's career defensive numbers are better and his offensive numbers are about even. Omar is more consistant than Ozzie was. But the wizard showed off more...was more flashy. I am a die-hard Cleveland Indians fan. When Omar left, I was pretty upset. I hope that he decides to come back here to coach in some capacity when his career is over. He still has his house here and has plenty of fans as well.

Andruw Jones

There is nothing he can't do on a baseball field. If people weren't still holding onto Willie Mays, there would be no question that Andruw is the best defensive outfielder of all time. He shows up on Baseball Tonight making a diving catch every night and he doesn't slow down to make it look like a better play like Jim Edmonds does. His arm is unreal - watch him sling it underhand into the stands from shallow center field. He is the youngest player to ever hit a home run in the world series. He has a great accent to boot. Andruw Jones is not only my favorite current player, but my favorite player of all time. That says something coming from someone who lives in Chicagoland and started watching baseball around the same time Ryne Sandberg was a rookie.

You are asking about my favorite baseball player and not who I think is the best. It would have to be Jim Thome because he gives everything he has to the game and is one of the best people you would ever meet. Baseball is a game for the fans and he understands that. He is 100% approachable and treats everybody with dignity and respect. Just a great person and not a bad baseball player when looking at his career numbers

David Eckstein. I am not tall, I'm 14 and not even 5 foot yet, but I play baseball and play shortstop, like David. David inspires me because he proves that I can be really good at baseball, no matter what others might say about my size. David also gives 110% all the time and every time. He might not be the superstar that Pujols is or Santana, but he gets the job done.

David Ortiz, the most clutch player in baseball, he has come through over and over with big plays for the Red Sox, big hit after big hit, in the 04 World Series, throwing across the diamond to pick off Suppan at 3rd, game winning hit after game winning hit. Ortiz is my favorite player because he is the most clutch player in the game and he should have won at least one MVP by now.

Alfonso Soriano. I am a Yankee fan living in Chicago and am happy to see him go to the cubs. I still believe that the yanks should have kept him and never gotten ARod. Soriano led the MLB in homeruns and stolen bases for most of the season when he was with the yankees. Thats a baseball player.

Manny Rameriz is my favorite player regardless of his ego. I guess it's because it really started out as a joke between friends that Manny was a sexy beast and stuff and then it just stuck. He is also a hell of a good player. V-Tek is also a very hard working and dedicated worker so he is probably my runner up
