I have!..
I`m good friends with Paul Newman, you know from The sting & Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid we met at the ice rink in Kensington it`s not there anymore.Anyhow,he`s since started his own business selling various sauces for salads and pastas and the like, so i sold the story of how delicous they are to Fiestas Readers Wives,i had to spice it up a bit obviously, but we both made a few bob.

Hell it depends, if they owe me one or not. If it was a "friend" who had wronged me before or something, then I might. However, it depends. The "saucy" story might actually boost their career or image. Sometimes "bad" incidents have a way of making people popular (i.e. Paris Hilton's sex tape, the partying of various celebrities, etc.) But let me tell you this, I have divulged info. about a close friend and she wasnt even famous, in fact I did it in front of her. While at a bar, I told her boyfriend and his friends about the time she farted very loudly in a crowded elevator. How's that for friendly....LOL

so long as it didn't cause that friend any bad publicity - then yes. If I thought they'd see the funny side and not malicious.
Perhaps you should have added,
Even if it cost you your friendship - because then my answer would be NO.
However, I guess there is a difference between a real friend and an acquaintance friend too.

But my best friend is famous and I've never been tempted to spill the beans on his life yet and never, ever will, I hold his friendship in high regard and value it more than all the money in the world.

No. Most of my friends have been in my life for years. I could never do the dirty on them. It would be like selling my soul

Only by agreement with them - nothing to harm their reputation. You did say "friend"! Anyway, I might get more life-time perks and benefits out of just knowing them, than out of selling one story!
