Interesting. Those individuals in Y!A Politics who *HAVE* wished a recently departed person into Hell, have not yet admitted such in this question.

It depends on who they are and what they've done. I don't wish everyone or, really anyone to hell except in extreme cases where they have gone the extra mile to be hateful. Most people who oppose my political views are good and decent people who happen to see things differently. Some who agree with my views generally or disagree and take those beliefs to an extreme where hatred is involved need to go to hell.

Never! Political dififerences should end the moment the opposing parties leave the platform! By the way, wishing one's departed soul to rest in peace is okay in spirit but to one to be sent to heaven or hell is a myth!

Since my views do not weigh into the final decision of whether the person will go to Hell or not, I do not have the right to "wish them Hell."

I truly hated Jerry Falwell and it had nothing to do with politics. He was the face of evil and in a time where Americans needed to be united and needed to greive, he attacked whole groups of people (gays, feminists) and claimed it as the wrath of god.

He was a hatemongering biggot and I don't mourn his passing whatsoever.

Nope. I may call them a host of things or tell them to when they are alive, but I have respect for the dead. I wish them safe journey to the next life & that God look favorably upon them for standing up for thier beliefs.

EDIT:

Of course if we're talking about someone akin to Hitler or Stalin and truly evil, then I hope they get what's coming to them.

No. If you believe in hell, then you are likely Christian. If you are a Christian, it is wrong to wish people to hell, thus wishing them to hell may well be the fast track to ending up in hell yourself.

No i don't believe in Hell, I don't react when someone that believes differently than I do dies, oh well, everybody dies sooner or later. They are free to believe as they choose and I don't have to agree. If I don't agree they have no affect on my life.

No infact I often have some of the best on line conversations with those of the opposite view point, no need to hate

There is no such thing as metaphysical "Hell", however there is small town in Michigan named "Hell". Why would I wish them to Michigan?

Jerry Falwell was not "someone of an opposing political view" he was a viscious, lying hypocrite and hate-monger who irrationally judged whole groups of people on a daily basis.

He was evil.
