Not that I know of and I am breastfeeding my third child right now. This would be a good question for your pediatrician instead of me though. From what I understand though, the infant toothpaste does not have floride in it. You can go to Walmart, Toys R Us or Target and get a little tube of toothpaste that comes with a finger toothbrush or toddler size toothbrush though. You should be brushing your baby's gums and/or teeth at least twice a day.

I do know that you need to supplement with the liquid vitimans with iron in them when breastfeeding. Breastmilk does not have sufficient iron in it if you breastfeed for any length of time. That is the only supplement I know of when breastfeeding.

Hope this helps.

At 6 months my doctor told me to start giving my baby water out of a sippy cup. You should check with your MUD (municipal water district) and see if they add fluoride to the water (most places do). You will be adding baby food soon, and with the drinking water, I do not think it would be an issue. I did hear a report that babies and children that are being given exclusively bottled water are having an increase in cavities, this is due to there not being fluoride in the bottled water. I only use bottled water when it is feeding time and we are out and about. At home I use filtered water from the fridge.

I would be carefull with the supplementation, my cousin was given that when he was younger and his teeth are grey from it. Also i have been reading a book "Natural cures they don't want you to know about" and in this book the author stress how fluoride is highly toxic. I would research this in depth before using a supplement.

It depends if the water you drink has flouride in it. Check with your town.
