a child of a different race? From a different country? What about a child with disabilites vs. a perfectly healthy child? And would you adopt an older child vs. a baby? I just want to see people's opinions on the adoption issue. Why or why not on any or all of these questions. Thanks!

Yes I would adopt a child of a different race... I am not racist, and I welcome all children no matter what ethnic background.. I would accept both a child with disabilities, and healthy... they all need homes... I would adopt both older and a baby... I want to see them grow....

ALL CHILDREN DESERVE A LOVING FAMILY....

Yes I would adopt a child of a different race and from a different country. As for adopting a child with disabilities, I don't think that I would have the patience for it, but what if the child would end up having a disability after being adopted? Then i guess that I would deal with it. I would most likely adopt a baby or young child before I would adopt an older child.

I plan on adopting someday, and I'd prefer the child to be older, preferably over 6 years old. Since I've got an excellent health insurance program, health isn't a great concern to me. And race/nationality is probably the last thing I'd think of. As long as the child wants to live with me and is happy in my household, very little else matters in my mind. Honestly, I'd also offer to adopt siblings because I can't stand it when families are broken up...

My greatest concern is that I'll never be able to adopt because I'm not married (and not currently planning on it) and not in a particularly stable job. (I'm looking at promotions to different places every 2-4 years for the next several years.)

I would adopt a child of a different race. I'm not sure about the child with disabilities or the older child. I'm not sure I'd be prepared to give them the physical and emotional support that they would need and deserve.
I am happy that others are able to give good homes to hard to place children.

Of coarse! Id rather adopt a child of a different race or culture to show that we can all work together, Im all for showing America can be kind. As for the health issue it would really depend, Id like to adopt a child that i wouldnt constantly have to keep in the hospital, It would worry me to much and Id get no time to spend with them. The age wouldnt really matter to me, a child is a child. I woulud prefer to have them as young as possible to get to know them longer but other than that it wouldnt matter.

If I had money and the compassionate lifestyle to do so, I would. But, alas, I'm just a schmo-Joe proletariat who struggles to buy one can of beer.

Seriously, if I had the money, yes, I would adopt a child if the wife wanted to. It's got to be a two way mutual decision. I'd adopt a child of a different race, easily. With disabilities? Depends, and there's no easy answers for that. arf!

absolutely!! I love children. I have 2 daughters of my own. I wish I was a very wealthy person & I would love to adopt many children & have more of my own. I feel like I'm a good Mom & give a lot of love & attention to my girls. I would love to be able to do that for other children who aren't as fortunate. My husband & I plan to adopt at least 1-2 children once we are done having our biological childen. We are still pretty young so we have time & hopefully by then we will be financially better off.

If I could adopt, it would be a child from here (USA) because there are too many children here without a home.
Movie stars are setting a bad example.
The rest wouldn't make a difference.

Depends on the child & the severity of the disabilty there are some things I am sure I could not handle. I am not racist so I wouldn't care about the race.
