I grew up in Minnesota and now live in NYC. In fact, sometimes I think Minnesota is much better than NY. It's a great place to live and visit. Check out Mall of America and all the lakes in Minneapolis!
The people there are very friendly and welcoming. If you ever had a question, you can stop someone on the street and they'll help you out. I love it!

According to a research study prepared for the University of MN Tourism Center and Explore Minnesota Tourism:
"Minnesota received 41 million person-visits during the period June 2005 through May 2006. Some 9.3 million person-visits were by travelers on day trips and the balance were made by travelers staying overnight in Minnesota (31.6 million)."

I spent two weeks in Minnesota when I was 15 and some of my best memories are of that trip! We stayed with a friend's family that had a summer house on one of the thousands of lakes, we waterskied, had bonfires, rode ATVs, etc. The scenery is lovely, the summer thunderstorms amazing and the people were 'real' and very welcoming.
I doubt that there is much for a tourist to see or do, but it is a very nice place.

Been there a few times. I always enjoy my time in Minnesota. Never been to the Mall of America. Too many other things to do outside.

Lots of people visit MN for their arts and culture in Minneapolis and Saint Paul, as well as for shopping at the Mall of America. Northern MN is also a great getaway for fishing, boating, camping and lots of different outdoor activities. There's actually a lot to do in MN and the people are very friendly.

I have a couple of times. Its real nice. Plenty of lakes and forests and both Minneapolis and St. Paul are great cities. I think the people tend to be friendly and progressive too. I like it there, other than the mosquitos in summer.

I have been there....pretty boring. They do have the Mall of America though. I think that's a big reason why people would visit....other than that it definitely wouldn't be my #1 choice!
