Well, I wouldn't want to be the person who that happened to but it wouldn't be the end of the world.
No I wouldn't tell the person.
They say dogs have cleaner mouths than humans.
And if you see the homeless people in American. They dumpster drive and eat whats thrown out. They are still alive and thriving all over the streets of America.
So, I don't think it will have hurt this person by not telling him.
But again. I would not have liked to drink water from a cup after a dog just drank from it.

I would laugh and laugh. After the person took a drink I would say, "Hey buddy, The dog drank out of your cup"!!!
I have done that before and you should have seen the look on my friend's face!! It was priceless!! I took a picture of him and he just stood there with his mouth wide open looking at me, then the dog and then his cup. I still can remember that just like it was yesterday!!

Why embarrass them over something that won't hurt them? I mean if your friend came down with parvo (sarcasm) I definitely would!. But If you want to tell someone else about it, your friend should be the first to know.
As far as a dogs mouth being cleaner than a humans
"They" say lots of things. They eat their own excrement for the love of Pete.

some friends of mine have a dog. One day they had a potluck. I saw their dog jump up and lick some of the dip from a bowl. I called my friend over and she said "oh Dogs have really clean mouths" and she left the dip there. Needless to say, I didnt eat the dip and I told everyone about it. Ick..... to answer your question: no I wouldnt because it would be to late. why make them feel sick.

If they already drank it then no, but if they where right about to pick the cup I'd be like... "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" The dog got to it and licked it. Then offer them a clean new glass with some new refreshment.

yuck,yuck,yuck! If I liked the person I would tell them before they drank it,but if I didn't like the person I would stay quiet and try not to laugh immaturely!
