Let's see he was the first president elected 3 times. He was President when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, T.H on Dec 7th 1941 T.H. stands for Territory of Hawaii it was NOT a state at that time, neither was Alaska. He started the WPA to put people back to work . W(orks) P(rogress ) A(administration) and The NRA N(National) R(recovery) A(Act) that was in 1933, it helped some but wages were still low and unemployment was still high. We did not really start to recover much until 1939 when WWII started in Europe.
