I don't know why they would be a dick and not, ulesss they worked you under the table and kept the money they took out of your check. They probally don't want to pay someone to keep records. They're just too retarded. Employment verification is dates of employment and would they rehire, anything else is illegal. I don't know, ask the morgage company, they probally would tell you for free bcuz they're going to make a fortune off you. If you use previous employers for employment verification, they HAVE to know you were a good employee automatically, bcuz otherwise you wouldn't use the as a reference.

I don't know about "legally" but you signed a paper giving the mortgage company permission to check on your employment records. The company will probably meet any requests by the mortgage company.
