the lines on the tabs represent the strings on your guitar. the numbers indicate the frets on which your left hand must be positioned on. (what you pluck)

The lines represent the strings of your guitar beginning at the bottom line for the low E on your guitar. The numbers shown on the lines represents the fret positioning for your fingertips.

Playing by tablature is a good way to learn the fretboard from the first fret to the 16th fret, but this method cannot substitute the need to play by notation. Playing by tablature is a slower way, but using sheet music will be the path for greater music knowledge and versatility.

it's real simple man....... da lines refer 2 da string(da top line refers 2 da bottom string & vice evrsa 4 da rest) da numbers on da lines refer 2 da fret........ der r also some symbols u might find on da lines....... dese refer to various effects ya need to put like hammer, pull off, etc. dese effects r generally listed further below on da page or if dey r not den ur gonna have 2 look 4da same effects in an other song. anyways hope u got all ur answers here.
