Easiest way is to open up a command prompt (in Windows, do Start -> Run and type in cmd) and then do:
ping www.address.com

This will attempt to contact the address you give, but will display it in IP format.

Not quite sure what you are asking but I'll take a stab. If your looking for the IP of the website, hit "start" then "run" type in "cmd" and hit enter. This will bring up a DOS prompt. Type ping www.thesiteyouneed.com and hit enter. This will ping the wesite and give you the IP of that site. You will need to replace "thesiteyouneed" with the site you are trying to hit.

use Firefox and install the 'ShowIP' add-on. It will display the IP address in the bottom right hand corner. Can be a bit quicker than constantly pinging/tracerting urls.
