In the North East, a Wasik is a mild insult, it means .... pest, nuisance, annoying brat of a little sister (I got it a lot from my sister for some reason)

Here's a thought.
If you're out of the area, you've just learnt a new insult and no-one will know what it means. But you have to say it with venom so that it sounds like .... wazzik (as in "Come here you little ......")

Yes, I believe they live in Kurdistan. If a Wesik came over to the NE (do you mean NE like Boston or Maine?) it probably might be funny. Then after I would tell them what it meant. Perhaps they too have funny meanings for words we have in English, not to mention New England slang. Wicked! I'm from CA.

The word is Wassock not wasik.There are also people called Fanny , ***** and Dick as first names without going into surnames such as bottom which are obviously more funny than someone being called Wasik
