Okay, this question is for the true baseball fan, others won't be able to answer. Give me the names and batting order for the all-time best team and each player has to be a "switch hitter". I am only looking for the (8) position players with no pitcher. You can have Mickey Mantle, if you want him, in the outfield and maybe you would like Eddie Murray at first base. How about Posada or maybe Victor Martinez behind the plate? (10) points will be given to the person that gives me the best looking team that has power, speed, and a good defense. Reasons why you selected certain players would be helpful to me. I am really not expecting a single response.

I've answered this question a bunch of times but never with the "switch-hitter" stipulation. Nice call!

1. Pete Rose - LF
2. George Davis - SS
3. Eddie Murray - 1B
4. Mickey Mantle - CF
5. Chipper Jones - 3B
6. Willie McGee - RF
7. Roberto Alomar - 2B
8. Jorge Posada - C
9. Carlos Zambrano - P (just for fun)

DH (if necessary) - Mark Teixeira (he's done it before, so I think it counts)

C: Victor Martinez. Close between him, Posada, and Ted Simmons. I never got to see Simmons play so it's tough to judge. Similar numbers to Posada, but I hate the Yanks so I chose Victor. His defense is suspect, but similar to Posada's, and he's doing better this year.
1B: Mark Teixeira. Gets the nod over Lance Berkman and Eddie Murray (just barely). He has the ability to put up monster numbers (HR and RBI) at an important power position. More durable than Berkman, and has a good glove too. Murray might be more consistant (see Tex last year) and play in a hitters park, but I love Tex's run production (110 RBI's last year, on an off year)
2B: Robbie Alomar. One of the best 2nd baseman of all time. Great glove, and became a good hitter also.
SS: Jose Reyes. Not much to say here. Exciting, young, and getting better.
3B: Chipper Jones. Consistant. Pencil him in for .300-30-100 every year
OF:
Mickey Mantle: Best switch hitter ever.
Carlos Beltran: Power, speed, glove, but could up his BA a little.
Pete Rose: Won two gold gloves in the outfield. All time hits leader.
Lineup: Reyes, Rose, Mantle, Tex, Jones, Beltran, Victor, Alomar
Not mentioned but deserve to be: Bernie Williams, Tim Raines, Ozzie Smith and Omar Vizquel (for defense), Frankie Frisch

LF Tim Raines. Had some power, lots of speed, drove in runs, great base runner.
2B Roberto Alomar. Speed, defence, a bit of power and clutch.
RF Willie McGee. Again, lots of speed, hit to all fields, drove in lots of runs with little power.
1B Eddie Murray, 500 homer club.
CF Mickey Mantle, huge power guy and won the triple crown.
C Ted Simmons. I like Victor Martinez, but he's still young. Simmons was a run producer for the Brewers and played decent catcher.
3B This was a hard one without looking any up, but going with Howard Johnson. Couple of years of 30/30 under his belt.
SS Ozzie Smith. Smith and Alomar, you better hope your hitters can hit it down the line cause 'ain't nothing going up the middle'

So, the team looks like
Raines - LF (speed, batting average, some power)
Alomar - 2B (speed, batting average, some power, awesome defensive.)
McGee - RF (speed, batting average, RBI producer)
Murray - 1B (Power, good average, lots of RBIs, pretty good defensively)
Mantle - CF (Scary power in prime)
Simmons - C (drives in runs, good average every other year)
Johnson - 3B (30/30 guy, horrible defense though)
Smith - SS (fast, light hitter, the BEST defensive SS)
