Of course. Everyone does. You don't act the same way in front of your employer or teacher and your closest friends. I'm pretty quiet at school because I don't have such good friends there, only acquaintances. In my hobby I'm one of the key persons, I organize things and talk to everyone.

I also talk about different things with different friends.

For instance if you are a psychologist and therefore deal with some depressing things at work, you just have to switch the role when you go home from work.

It's not so much that I present a different self, it's more that I can be quite shy at times, and so it really depends on how comfortable I feel as to how much I can be the real me.

Yes but then doesn't everyone. I mean if I were do be completly myself at a party etc I would probibly freak alot of people out and sometimes you just have to act diffferently or it would be just plain rude depending on the circumstance.

Not only that, I feel like a variety of different 'versions of me', depending on who I'm talking to... difficult to describe really. But it's good reading some of the answers on here... I thought it was just me that did this!

I tend to slightly alter my personality for the type of functiion it is. I wouldn't be all outrageous and funky if it was a work black tie do just like I wouldn't be conservative if I was going to my friend's brithday bash. I guess that's just social manners though.
