While I can't comment specifically about your particular mouse without knowing more infomration, I can say that this type of mouse uses a small infrared laser instead of an LED, which increases the resolution of the image taken by the mouse. This leads to around 20× more sensitivity to the surface features used for navigation compared to conventional optical mice, via interference effects.

Engineers designed the laser mouse — as a wireless mouse — to save as much power as possible. In order to do this, the mouse blinks the laser when in standby-mode (Each mouse has a different standby time). This function also increases the laser life. Laser mice designed specifically for gamers, such as the Logitech G5 or the Razer Copperhead, appeared later and lack this feature, in an attempt to reduce latency and to improve responsiveness.

It might be called a "laser" mouse, but it's not really a laser. More accurately, it is an optical mouse, meaning it tracks using optical methods as opposed to the traditional mechanical ones.

If you hold your mouse up close enough to a piece of paper, you should see the light.

feels like the cats like the mouse! heavily, cat hair is the worst and looks to flow suited into it. attempt wiping the laser mouse each and every so often with a dryer sheet. the cloth softener in it prevents dirt and hair from accumulating. It additionally works large on your show screen and television monitors, too.
