Sitting at home is something the cricketers cannot think of. Other than coaching, they take up commentary, become expert voicing good & bad comments, spend time with young cricketers sharing their experience and giving tips how to fine tune their game(no serious coaching eh!),some manage to get endorsements even after retirement, some take up umpiring and last of all some even go to the extent of sharing their bounty with the poor and underprivileged sections of the society by engaging in charity work. Now-a-days there are a lot of ways to keep them busy. Some even try their hands in other sports for fun and past time. A few still find more time to spend time with their family, a thing they could not when they were busy with their cricket and other activities.

Many ex-cricketers have taken up the profession of
cricket commentators. Some of them look after the business they have set up, few are engaged in development of cricket, few are associated with different cricket committees.

They have earned enough money - they might spend holidays, give their idiotic comments (become commentators) through radio, TV and media or join the BCCI in some way or other. We all know they are fit for nothing, but those with professional background, settle well in their actual career like Krish Srikanth (Engineer)
