I believe they do. Democrats will do any thing as long as it is not what the Republicans want and of course the Republicans do the same. I believe they all forgot they are to do the best for the country and make good decisions for the people. If all of them would spent their time in making solutions, not fighting each other, our country would be a lot better off.

Politics is a dirty muckraking exercise and to accomplish anything civic minded individuals must put on the hipwaders that are Party affiliation. I vote my conscience and will split my ticket if it serves the Balance, the best interest of my Country. Don't like the Coke and Pepsi brand parties? Do something about it. I am probably on an FBI watchlist somewhere because I signed a Socialist petition to get their party on a ballot. Didn't vote for them, just wanted them to be heard.
An unapologetic Democratic Patriot. Semper Fi, do or die.

NO!! It's the Candidates who put their party before their country. The Average American person just believes that their party hold the best direction for America. Many forget their politician have been bought and paid for by lobbyist. We need to take our parties back from the lobbyist that's when politicians will once again be making choices on what's best for the country.

In plain frank words 'NO'. This qsn reminds me the instance where the 'united nations' was critical of the bush adminisration when their relief-contribution to the countries tarnished by tsunami was less than 25% of their expenditure on the party held to celebrate mr.bush's re-election as the president. neither the democrats nor the republicans protested. Irrespective of the party they belong to, if this is the kinda attitude they present on international arena, it's easy for one to imagine that they'd put their respective parties before their country. I guess this justifies the quote "politics is the last resort of scoundrels".

I think the larger problem, overall, is that a vast number of members of all parties that put their own self-interest ahead of their country. There are exceptions. But, for most of them "loyalty to the party" much like gang membership elsewhere, is something you do because you think there's something in it for you.
