You are finding the area of a triangle

A = 1/2 bh ==> 1/2 times b times h

b is the base of the triangle
h is the height of the triangle
Just subsitute the value of b and h into the equation

A = 1/2 b h
A = 1/2 (9) (6)
A = 1/2 (54)
A = 27 ==> the answer

A=(1/2)*bh
b=9
h=6
A=(1/2)*9*6
=27

Typing this can cause confusion as the b & h look as if they are in the denominator.

b*h* 1/2 = b*h/2 = 9*6/2 = 54/2 = 27

This is called substitution. Substitute the values of b and h in the equation then solve.
A=1/2 (9)(6)
A=1/2 (54)
A=27
