Why do people feel the need to speak out against the war? Do you really think you can do anything about it?
Have we forgotten what happened on 9/11?
They are in our country planning stuff right now. Because we took the fight to them in there country is the reason why the U.S. doesnt have to ration like WWI and WWII. You dont have to move like a refugee to Mexico or Canada. You say "That wouldnt happen." You right. Because the military (me) would take care of them...well we are and LET US DO OUR JOBS. Do you do things HALF-***? We don't.
So anyone thinking they got the right to talk sh@t should take a LONG look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are helping society or just taking up space. I am bettering myself and helping the world be a safer place.

Paul D...get out. Just pack your sh*t, not the stuff your parents bought you, YOUR stuff and get out the country. Were you even born on 9/11/2001? Did you see what happened to us? US...you,me and our fellow citizens!!! (Forget the world...care about your own people 1st).
Do you think it wont happen again?
So you rather be the Polish and French (using your "witty" comparison of WWII and now) and let other people walk all over us?
What are you going to do when somebody kills your innocent family and friends...tell them "Hey...that's wrong"
Grow up.
oh yeah...Your welcome

Paul D "Why do people need to speak out against this war?
Because it is wrong.
Where is everyones patiotism?
Patriots do what is right even if it is unpopular or risky. The patriots are speaking out against the war, because it is wrong.
LET US DO OUR JOBS. - That is what Germans working at the concentration camps told themselves as they shoved human beings into gas chambers.
Wrong is wrong..just because powerful people say it is alright to do something, or that it is patriotic to do something, or that we are justified in doing something doesn't change the fact that if it is wrong...it is still wrong.
Patriots do what is right even if it is unpopular or risky, EXACTLY Patriots DO what is unpopular THEY FIGHT THIS war to protect your freedom to say what you like even if it is misguided and naive.
To use the example this is what Germans told themselves when shoving people into gas chambers, well buddy WAKE up if we lose this war the Facist-Islamists most likely will do that to anyone who is not muslim like YOU.
WRONG is WRONG indeed, WRONG is to not support your nation, your way of life your freedom on the line against the most evil enemy since the nazi's (And use NAZI's in future not Germans, not every german was a NAZI and your use of the word German is therefore distorting and WRONG)

1.what does patriotism have to do with economics?
For or against the war has nothing to with 3rd world countries
2. why speak out. well how about this:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
3. Iraq was NOT involved with the Sept 11 attacks.
5. almost all of WWI and WWII was fought on European soil and we still ration supplies.
“The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions, that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all. I like a little rebellion now and then.”-T. Jefferson

You know, I'm all for your decision to join the military and fight for what you believe in. I certainly don't have the balls to put my life on the line for a war like this one.
That said, don't assume that you (the military) are responsible for our right to free speech. That's guaranteed in the Constitution. Military or not.
we HAVE forgotten what happened on 9/11. That's why we're currently mired in sh*t in Iraq instead of hunting down Bin Laden, the man responsible for the events of that day.
That is just one of the many reasons people speak out against this war.
Another is that people like yourself, young Americans, are being killed and captured in a country thousands of miles from home, and for what? Because Bush needs to work on his Daddy issues? Because Iraq has the Black Gold that we need?
Seriously, I have no idea why we are in Iraq. First, it was WMD's, then it was to rid the world of a tyrant and promote democracy. Why should Americans give their lives to fight a war with no clear objective? Because Bush says so? To export "democracy" like it's Coca-Cola?
I'm sorry, I'm not one to blindly follow what people tell me.
F*ck that.
edit: look, I'm in no position to say what the Iraqi's want I haven't been there and I don't know their people. However, THEIR GOVERMENT is telling US to GET OUT of their country. At this point, I think they should be able to make their own governing decisions.
I think you grossly underestimate the American people by insinuating that without the military people would just sit back and let an invading country/government take over. That's one of the least patriotic ideas I've ever heard.

Unfortunately, not everyone sees it this way. Some of them might be happier if we fought on our own land bc then they could see the actual need more closely. We may have to since we seem to have and open door policy
