its my friend's name.........no one can pronounce it and she's very creeped out with it.........what do u think of her name?

i asked this question on common yahoo answers and i got really horrid things for this name......its an indian name so meybe indians would know it better?

Hi!I think Akshara is a very nice & new name for me.She should be proud that her parents have given her a cute name.But as the problem is that her friends cannot pronounce it then keep a pet name for her friends like Aki so I think they will be able to pronounce it.But don't remove the name that her parents have given her

Akshara is a real cute name..
It means an alphabet ( to be specific)..
for ex, in english, a b c d e etc are alphabets
similarly indians call the alphabets as Akshara..
It's actually a sanskrit word... (sanskrit is an age old language in India presumably God's language)
Even my name is a sanskrit word which means 'salvation'

I have seen easier names to pronounce and spell. Maybe in some foreign country it's like Bob here... but it is a bit difficult for us.
But it could be kind of pretty I suppose. I hate to criticize a name someone else is carrying around..

Its really very good name because its a very peculiar name different from the common names like Rahul,Rohit etc.

An akshara is formed by the combination of zero or one vyanjana and one or more svar, ...akshara (the imperishable in simple languae i think she proud of her name

Akshara means letters of alphabets. pronounced as ak-sha-ra.
Its not a very interesting name.
if she is agirl, one may try to learn/read/study/rewrite/?---,etc. her.
if she is a boy, nobody will bother.

ठà¤à¥à¤·à¤°? oh yeah i like those non religious names, even if they belong to our primitive mother tounge which is not considered cool anymore. i would prefer naming my daughter that rather than पà¥à¤à¤¾ or à¤à¤°à¥à¤¤à¥ or something. tell your friend þà liked her name.
