thanx for all your great reply, as you've prob guessed yes i am still at home infront of comp. i did tell the midwife about my show last night and the pains, i thought she would have done an internall but no she did'nt. the only thing she said was to go back next week at first she said two weeks but coz the baby not moving as much she made it one week. i had my first son at 37 wks and did'nt know i was in labour until i went in for a routine check up and my contractions were picked up on heart monitor, doc done internall and i was 5 cm dillated.

I would call your local hospital, and speak to someone in Labour and Delivery. They will probably ask you to come in to be monitored. They are extremely cautious with women who are pre-term. At the very least, it will put your mind at ease.

I would say that you are experiencing "false labour" when the body is preparing for birth. In real labour the contractions become closer together and stronger with each one. It is only when you are experiencing strong very regular contractions that you should go into hospital. You can lose your mucus plug weeks before the birth actually happens, this is not uncommon. I would try and rest and be as relaxed as possible. You still have over a month before you're due and your body is just getting ready. The back ache could be associated with the mild contractions you are having but could just be a result of the last leg of your pregnancy. Keep monitoring and timing the contraction type pains and only be concerned if they progress. The more you worry the more it will hurt so try and distract yourself in some way - i would say baby will be on its way in the next few weeks. xxx

No you are DEFINATELY in labour, you would not have had a show if they were braxton hicks!

My labour lasted 36 hours but my friend was in labour for 2 days so it may just be a long one!

no worries though, just have a nice bath, make sure you've got everything you need to take to the hospital and once your contractions come every 5 mins then it's time to go to hospital! or if your waters break then you will need to go to hospital

if your worried then go to hospital and ask to be monitored!

good luck with the labour and birth and congrats on your new baby to-be!

Sounds like you could be, sometimes with prem labour you get some false pains beforer the real labour starts! Did you tel her you had a show?
Did she see if you were dialted?
If i were you and you are still getting pains, get down to your hospital! Get them to put you on a machine that can see if you are contracting( mind you when i had my daughter 7 weeks early the machine didn't pick up the contractions! They only believed me when her head came out!) Don't be pushed around, it is your baby, I don't have a lot of faith in some midwives, get the hospital to examine you if in pain and don't go home till the pains stop, and the minute they come back go right back to hospital! Please listen to me I have had 2 kids at 33 weeks, and you will need to be in hosp if this baby comes out! You may even need steroids to get the babies lungs more mature! Good luck and email me if you need help, jacquewal@hotmail.com i will be pleased to help !

Sounds like labour to me especially when it's in your back as well. I was like that for 24 hours before the "pains" went from every half hour to every 10 minutes & even then they weren't "painful". Every time I sat down or lay down they increased in length of time between. So - get some rest until the frequency increases to about every 10 minutes and then call the midwife.

Yes you just might be in labour! Did your midwife do an internal exam on you? That would have told her if your cervix was "ripe" and if you had already dilated.
It is not uncommon for your show to appear weeks before you have your baby & the pains might be Braxton Hicks.
I would definitly go to my GP as im sure you are very anxious about this.
Good luck to you and your baby :)

it could be the start of it but it can still be a few days yet before you need to go in but i would say that you should keep a time on how often the pain comes also keep a eye out for any leaks down below as your waters may start leaking and then you have to go in cause baby is ready
good luck with everything
and remember try not to get to stressed out and try to make the best of whatever time you have left before baby comes along cause after that there no rest lol (only joy)

I hope you are not still at home on the computer. Having show is a defininate sign of your cervix relaxing. You are too early yet and the baby could use the extra time to grow. Please go to the hospital and get examined "internally" so they can see where you are and try to stop it. A bath is not a good idea if you lost the plug because you could get an infection. I am due on the 22 of June and I would still be worried to deliver now.

Could be braxton hicks but it definitely sounds like labour especially if you've had a show. Hospitals are so over capacitated now they send pregnant mums home to sit out labour. I had labour pains for days before I finally had "established labour". I take it they examined you internally to see if the cervix was opening?

its sounds like you are in labour - i had the same thing when i had my child, felt like period pains, just ten times worse but i could handle them at the same time. are you having natural? if so then you going to have to wait this out. i was in labour for 36 hours before i asked for an epidural and after that an hour later out popped my son now 3. good luck and GET TO A HOSPITAL...
