This is the headline on our papers this morning.....

WTF has this got to do with this babes disappearance?

I have read the storey and all they have done is blackened this mans name even further - with no evidence linking him to or mention of Maddy.

What this man does in private with 2 other consenting adults is his own business........
(even if it comes out that he is involved - which I personally doubt - this informtion in the paper is pathetic and has no relevance!)

That, friend, is a very good point, and thoroughly well said. It is beyond ridiculous and has sweet F.A. to do with little Madeleine.

I would not argue for a second with people who say that we need to be aware of what is happening in these cases. That's common sense to me. However, the media knowing all sorts of private details about someone is an absolute disgrace when it has NOT YET BEEN PROVEN that they had anything to do with it whatsoever.

We are not talking about someone who we know has committed a hideous and heinous act. The press is far too quick to hang by assumption - just like they did with one man in the recent Ipswich murders, who had nothing to do with it whatsoever. An innocent man does not deserve to be ripped to pieces unless proven guilty.

(To state the obvious: I hope that if he is guilty, he rots in hell, but if not then why should we know his life story???)

I'm sorry EMA but you have one fact wrong. This man wasn't arrested, he was questioned. He wasn't charged but has been told that he is the prime suspect and therefore cannot leave the country and he has to report in to the police. There must have been a little more to him being questioned than just a reporter saying he looked 'dodgy'. He was under police surveillance for over a week. Do you really think the police have nothing on him?

He went to the police station to complain about the surveillance car following him. At which point the police questioned him for 19 hours, cordened off his villa, searched his cars and began draining the pool and septic tank. That's some going for the police to do all this on the report of one journalist saying there's something not right about him.

The press shouldn't have published his name so early but they have done for ratings and to keep the case in the public eye.

I think we should all reserve judgement on whether he's guilty or not until we know the full story.

Dave, concerning b), i think of that could be a huge progression. I see basically 3 ideas right here: a million. that is all lies and no-one observed one among these guy. 2. the guy who observed him did not worry to tell the McCanns. 3. The McCanns have been advised yet did not act. how in the international ought to between the gang have seen an unusual guy peeking into the residence that evening and not even stricken asserting it to the McCanns?! it particularly is easily not credible. Did they certainly tell the McCanns yet this by some capacity wasn't sufficient for them to desert yet yet another evening out?! this may be a very stunning revelation! might this be why there's a %. of silence....of course they might all understand that any doubt in the time-honored public recommendations over whether the McCanns were negligent may be bumped off if people knew that they were advised approximately this. perhaps the acquaintances all agreed to guard the McCanns from this adverse revelation? nicely i think of we are in a position to rule out selection 2 yet which of the different ideas is the certainty? one among them must be!

It was said this morning by a detective that this reporting of Robert Murat may prejudice any future trail, should it come to that, the bigger picture meaning any potential trial may be dismissed on the grounds he would not receive a fair trial.
I don't think the press are doing anyone any favours by printing things like this. Bear in mind, he also has a young daughter, who has done nothing wrong and her life is going to change dramatically because of this

Like I said before: the media are a pain in the butt naming someone without proof of guilt. They love ruining peoples lives. It's getting now where I don't buy newspapers anymore and the TV news will be the next thing that'll go. You just can't believe them anymore because they don't deal with fact. All you get from Sky News is speculation, speculation and more speculation. It's all wrong.

He's also a wicked witch, he personally sunk the Titanic and was responsible for Hitler getting into power....

I hate the way the media try to dig dirt on people like this, I hope he is innocent of all charges and can do something about the vicious slander from the media.

Unfortunately it's this kind of **** that sells papers. At least they've stopped going on about his glass eye, as if that alone were proof positive that he's guilty before he's even actually been accused or charged with anything.

Yes totally agree and what ever happened to innocent untill proven guilty .......they have searched this mans house and as yet have not come up with enough evidence to formally arrest him ..I realise that could happen yet but untill it does why try to discredit him further and what a shame if he is like his aunt said a really helpful person ............

I fully agree with you on this one, the case is colder by the day, the journalists are making up their own news, as some news is good news to them.

I don't read the trashy tabloids, but this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Poor man. This is a witch hunt. We haven't moved on much from the middle ages really.
