Yes, I have had one done for me and it was incredibly accurate. The reader knew I could read cards as well. The reading made him nervous but he continued to tell me of my now deceased husband. It came to pass that we met and married within the year. The description of my husband was exact...and so was our marriage.

If Tarot was not reasonably accurate it would not have lasted from the time of the Pharaohs until the present. The problem that you will run into most often is readers who are not readers, including even the little pamphlet that comes with most decks these days.
These days I read for a few and they read for me. Many of them use spreads out of Doane and Keys Book, but I chose to do a cross over from some Ceremonial Native American Magick and chose to use the whole Deck in a spiral of interaction. It even works well with the Thoth Deck of Crowley, which was something of a surprise.
In all readings there are those that rush to be readers, and many fewer that work slowly toward understanding themselves and their relationship with the deck they are working, palms they are reading, runes or I Ching they have thrown.
Accuracy comes slowly, as does knowing when to shut up even when it will make you look like a "real" reader if you speak on.

As with most things, there are charlatans out there. As with most things, there is talent out there. Tarot is not just reading the cards, there is also reading the person. The tarot cards are just a tool to make this easier. I can read a person, but with the cards it gives me more direction. It provides the starting points and visual stimulation to add to or redirect the reading. If someone comes for a reading and is all closed and non-believing it takes quite some effort to get through their barrier of disbelief. As I don't charge for readings, I will often not bother. I don't see it as my job to convert someone to believe in me and my abilities. I'll just tell them there is nothing to be learnt from the cards today. The main thing you need to decide is 'Is this person a charlatan?' Are they just in it to skim some $$ from your wallet/purse? or are they going to give you a true reading? Not everything comes true from a reading, that is exactly the point. For-warned is for-armed. Only you can change your future. You will be on the lookout for that bus, you may subconsciously avoid bus stops and main roads. Just because you don't get hit by it, doesn't mean you wouldn't have.

I have had several Tarot readings, and the reader was infact quite accurate. She has said that I would marry before the end of that year to a man I had just met, and had overlooked. She was on the money. I married a guy that I had met only weeks before the reading and we are still together 12 years later.

The tarot is read 2 ways - by the book OR with psychic intuitive power. It would depend entirely upon the reader. And the sitter's energies play a part as well. If you considered any information given as nonsense, then that is what it becomes...you create your own existence.

Numerology is any belief in divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding events. It's an occult science that I consider fascinating. I started to study numerology because of my obsession with Mathematics, Geometry. What I discovered it's really incredibble.

I had a tarot card reading 27 years ago, things I was told would happen in the short term started happening a week after the reading and the occurences were totally out of my control.
Long term everything she said came true.
If you're planning on going to one make sure he or she is a reputable one, go on word of mouth if you're unsure who to go to. Mine was in South Africa.

Yes, I read runes. Runes are said to reflect on a person's values. According to Norse myth, Odin hung from a Yew tree (as represented by the rune "Algiz" meaning protection) and saw these symbols upon his death; naming each one.

I had my palm read twice. I was not impressed. I had Tarot cards done, and the reader was wrong about a lot of things. Anything that was right was so vague it could apply to a lot of different situations.
Learn about "cold reading" if you want to know how psychics get good at what they do. There's no good evidence that psychic ability is real.

My husband read tarot cards for my stepsister and correctly read that her husband was having an affair. The reading opened her eyes and she was divorced soon after that. Strangely, this reading took place right after my wedding, at the reception; my stepsister thought it would be a laugh. Hmmm...
