First go the Control Panel and the System Icon and see how might memory it shows.

Then, with the PC off, removing one of the chips and reboot. Check the memory. It should be reduced to half the original amount.

Swap in only the other chip and check again.

Then put back both chips in the opposite slots from where they started. Check again.

The results should show if both chips and both slots are working or not.

Play the old SHELL GAME.

Put just one in, and test the computer.

Put the other in, and test the computer.

If either fail, try testing it again in the OTHER SLOT. You see, you could have a problem with the slot that it is in.

Go to control panal open systems there it should tell you how much RAM is working.
