Why is it so easy for people to just turn their backs on people and walk out of their lives?

Relationships (any kind....whether familial, romantic, friendly) are hard work. Every relationship needs work to make it last. Its easy to talk about love & commitment & all the nice stuff when times are good.....but its a different story when you actually have to prove it during bad times. Pulling a relationship thru rough patches calls for understanding, swallowing your pride, forgiveness, sacrifice....and none of these things are easy to do. In comparison, its much easier to walk out.

Of course, if its a harmful relationship, by all means walk out. But if this is a pattern in someone's life, they need to take a serious look at themselves, coz what they're really doing is running away instead of facing problems. They don't realise that the price they end up paying later is much much higher.....sheer loneliness.

I really liked the first answer that it is a defense mechanism.I think many times that is very true.Getting close to people only causes pain alot of times and after you've been hurt alot it gets easier and easier to turn your back on people.Even those that you care about.

I'm sorry for me thats the hardest thing to do. I can't just walk away, thats my problem.

they only think of themselves & dont care whether others get hurt on d way
