My ankle is swollen from the top of my foot to about 4" above it. I haven't injured it in any way. It has only the swelling as a symptom. There is no pain, or redness. It does not look like cellulitis. It's been this way for probably 2-4 weeks. I have a scheduled appointment with my doctor in June. Thank you.

Is DVT a possibility? Is the edema (swllelling) "pitted" (i.e., when you push in on the area with your finger, does it leave an indentation or does it spring back).

I'd go ahead and invest the time in an urgent care visit. Hopefully, it won't take all day. At worst, you've "wasted" a bit of time. At best, you've saved your life.

Be careful with your body. It's the only one you've got!

Best of luck to you,
~M~

See if you can see your doctor sooner. This, of course is not normal. I know that urgent care centers around here are not the best, I do not know how they are by you....You need blood work done to rule out several possibilities, but June is too far off. This may be water retention which can be cardiac related. So do not delay.

it could be a build-up of fluid if there is no pain or anything.... could be a number of things... either way, i'd be seeing a doctor because it shouldn't be there.... are you diabetic (diabetics don't always feel pain)
