When inserted into a card reader they should be able to copy and paste all your info off the card and paste the info in a file on one of their hard drives. Computer/card reader/open/select all/copy/paste in folder on their hard drive. As long as they don't cut and instead copy your photo's they will just hand you your card back and they have a copy of your photo's.
To view use an appropriate program (Window Picture and Fax Viewer or any other program they are using to view pictures). Make sure your friend doesn't delete anything off your card.

If someone else has your sim card, the only information that they would be able to access is your contact details (phone numbers) and sometimes your text messages. Everything else, such as photos, videos, music files, are stored in the orginal phone (yours) and not to the simcard. So the person getting the simcard would not have acadess to your pics, etc.

unless you erased whats on there your friend will be able to see anything stored on the card
