Early in the morning watching the sun come up while sitting on a stoop of our house I saw sparkeling reds, greens, yellows and blue colors reflecting from dew on the grass. I tried to discern where the colors were coming from and couldn't. There was honeysuckle and other flowers blooming and I suppose the sun was picking up those colors.

Water and light on the back-beach side of Oahu.
The waves, locally called "rollers" were huge, and warnings to stay out of the water were posted all along the shore.
The rollers came on shore with tremendous power, creating massive sprays as they cascaded over the high, flat, rocks.
Back from the shore was a chimney rock standing free.
The stratified rock allowed the sea water to rush under it in places, until it reached crevices which saw the incoming pressure force the water upwards and clear of the base by fifty feet or more, both around and behind the chimney.
The water surged upwards in huge spouts, which were joined by others from the smaller openings nearby and the splashes and sprays resulting from the impact of the waves on the frontal faces of the rocks.
The March sunlight coming low across the water created a myriad of dancing rainbows, with constantly changing heights and hues, the motion all perfectly choreographed to the rhythm and sounds from the crashing waves.
It was truly spectacular.
