When will the police arrest the parents of Madeleine?
They are guilty of neglect and should have all of their children taken away from them!
It was there own fault to leave such children alone so they could have a good time, most people would not leave their children alone up 14 years own, a law i think.

GOD YOU ARE BRAVE!!! I am on your side but there are so many who are not unfortunately. I have been slated for saying that they are neglectful but THEY ARE. What idiots in their right minds leave 3 kids under the age of 4 alone?????? Why are people saying "oh the poor parents" its the kid who is or has suffered here. The top and bottom of it is that if one of them had stayed home or they had taken the kids with them they would not be in this god damn awful mess now would they? I know they are suffering but i keep thinking how many times had they done this and got away with it ? Do they do it at home, i bet they do ? I completely agree with you, when this matter is resolved one way or another they SHOULD be prosecuted.

I am really torn - on the one hand, I am really surprised that the parents left three really young children alone - OK, they weren't far away, but I would be really scared one of them woke up crying and got hysterical discovering him/herself alone - and when I found out about the package for childminding at NIGHT while the parents go out, I was even more surprised. However, all parents make mistakes whether they admit them or not. These poor people have to live with this for the rest of their lives (and all the gossip and innuendo as well) whether Madeleine is found alive and well, or (God Forbid) not. Also, children have been abducted out of their beds while their parents have been in the same house and within earshot. Sure, they may have heard them, but they may not. I think it's pretty harsh to insist on them being arrested or asking when the Police will arrest them - unless there is evidence of their involvement, I doubt they will be arrested. They are also the parents of two other very young, vulnerable children who need their mum and dad around. I am sure in time that someone from Social Services (or a similar) body will question them though - it's inevitable really. Poor little Madeleine. It's a nasty world sometimes.

I agree they should at least be questioned on why they chose to leave three such young children. If Maddie does not return safe and well I think the parents will have there punishment without being arrested. Some of the answers are about us making huge mistakes in our lives and I admit I have made quite a few, but none of them involved leaving any of my children home or abroad. What we are trying to get across to all you people who think it was ok for them to leave the kids is that by leaving them that child could have suffered any form of abuse, pain or even death, that was not her fault it was the parents.

I have no idea as to the law on the matter of neglect.

However my wife and I both expressed exactly the same views as you when we first heard this story. To leave the children unattended when free baby sitting services were available does seem like neglect to me.

However I am sure that the parents already feel as though they have paid for this mistake and I fail to see what benefit prosecuting them would have.

I dont think you deserve the insults as this is a valid question that is being glossed over by the media.

I agree, they went on a family members trip. in the event that they weren't arranged to bypass back to hotel early then they would not have long previous on the trip. i've got faith sorry for them and am deeply disenchanted approximately it and the real criminal is the sicko thats taken her. however the mothers and dads are not thoroughly harmless. What if there were a fireplace or between the youngsters had woken and harm themselves, they nevertheless would not have been there to do something approximately it and can stil be in charge. they have admitted that they have got been incorrect to do it, and that i will understand the way people think of they're secure in a family members area. yet there have been creche centers obtainable.

I agree. I don't think it was the first time they left their children. They did it every night and were being watched. If they wanted a holiday together why not leave the children with their grandparents! I hope Madeleine is found alive. Bless her little heart xxxxx

Do you really think that now is the time for Police to arrest them? Whilst they are in such trauma over their missing girl? What good would come from that at this time?
Yes we know they should not have done this, they obviously are dealing with the consequences now. Of wondering in their minds 24/7 what horrific tortures and pain may be being inflicted on that poor girl. That is enough for now.
Maybe if found an investigation by social services would suffice now at this stage.

A lot of parents leave their children alone unattended, and unsupervised! These parents are the exact same ones that are defending the McCanns for their negligent actions! Anyone that supports these parents opposes their remaining children from having a safe life and a chance to live! So to all that side with the McCann's go ahead and post away!

they will not arrest the parents although I agree they should. It was gross neglect of their duty as parents to leave the children alone. They should not have gone out without either taking her with them or arranging a baby sitter. I think they were totally selfish. The sympathy for them is unwarranted and it is the little girl who we should be thinking about and praying for. The parents say they thought the resort was a safe area, she was asleep and that they regularly checked on her. No where is safe nowadays and it just shows it only takes a few minutes to abduct a child. Let us just hope she is found safe and well.

We just have to wait and see.

I see where you are coming from although I don't think they should be arrested given the circumstances.....

Yes they where very careless about these babies and I do beleive they have contributed to their own childs abduction with their behaviour - but lets just see what happens - I think there is alot more to this case than meets the eye!!
