Sounds to me like your afraid of marriage. Obviously you are already committed to your partner if you've been together a while and they're asking you to marry them, it must be pretty serious. I used to be afraid of it too, I would date someone for no longer than 2 months then get rid of them. Until I found the man Im with now, We've been together almost a year and I know hes the one Im supposed to be with. Maybe hes not the right one and thats why you are afraid.

Oh Rebellious, you have the lingering suspicion and thoughts that you could do better, much better. That is why you are hesitating. I know that. On the other hand you are a fence sitter who beneath it all refuses to change even though you profess change. This fear of emotional closeness causes you as the type 44 personality to eschew the ones who profess emotional closeness to you. Good luck in dealing with it. In golf, you are in the rough grassy, take out a wedge and swing. Grassy is a better alternative Sweetie but thats why you are hesitant. Sometimes you have to fish or cut bait and make a decision. Do not remain status quo.

Nope, just scared of getting married! Look around and see how many commitments you are and have been committed to. Perhaps, marriage is not in your life plan right now. Or maybe your partner is not what you dream for your life. Go with your gut and your heart. Luck to you!

Maybe your just not ready to commit and settle down, it doesnt mean you love your partner any less. Tell him that you are not ready, honesty is the best policy. Once he knows how you feel, Im sure he will ease up with the marriage proposels..... dont stress and just enjoy the time you have with him.....

Perhaps you know deep down that you dont really want to be with him forever?

I think you are right to delay if you are not sure - too many people get married thinking that if it doesnt work they can just get divorced, but I think this is pretty wrong - if you get married, it should be for life.

Can you imagine yourself marrying this man ever? Can you imagine walking down the isle to him? having children with him? growing old with him? If you can imagine this, and like what you see then perhaps it is time to take the plunge. If however, you cant see these things ever happening, then perhaps it is time to split up...you may just be staying in the relationship for security even though its not really what you want.

I've never been afraid of commitment and I've been with my man over 2 years now. I'm just waiting for him to pop the question. ;) Also I agree with what most are telling you, very good advise people. :)

If I loved him and was living with him, sure you should marry him.
If you don't love him Leave him.
Very interesting, usually it is the man that does not want to make a commitment.
