A printer is a printer, a copier is a copier, they have nothing in common

The biggest differences that I can see are -

A printer requires a computer to create an image. However, they create an original image everytime.

High speed copiers are faster. A copier will always degrade your image a tiny bit, not matter how good the copier is.

You also need to look into running costs. If you are going to be doing lots of copying, toner will be a big cost.

For big jobs think about how much you can print in one go. If you need to print 5000 pages but you printer can only hold 200, you will have to refill it 25 times.

Ultimately your choice is going to come down to cost versus features. Do you need a scanner as well? Will you always be printing from a computer? Is speed more important than quality? Are you going to use colour?

Mechanically they are pretty similar. Some network printers also contain a scanner to copy papers. Some photocopiers can be set up for use as printers. You have to research your own options, since we don't know what you want or need or can afford.
