The Lion Brand website has a comprehensive how-to knit booklet. There's a link to a downloadable PDF version that you can print out. If you'd rather not download, you can go through each HTML section listed below the PDF link and print them individually.

Enjoy your knitting!

There are alot of places you can go to learn how to knit these days--its a very popular hobby!!! For tutorials, printable guides, and supplies, I would reccomend stitchdiva.com and knitpicks.com. Both have very reasonalbe prices on their products, and their sites also have tutorials on knitting--sort of a movie, to show you how to do the stitches and techniques, all from the perspective of how your hands would look in front of you for an even easier time of it. And on both sites the instructional features are free. On top of that, you will want to go to knitty.com-its an online knitters magazine with a community of knitters ready, able, and very willing to answer any questions. Its free to join, and the mag puts out alot of free, cool, not your grandmothers patterns, all in a very easy to read patterns with printable techniques as well. This is the biggest community online for knitters and pretty much a staple of the knitting world. If you need anyone to help with a specific problem, you can feel free to email me at anytime here on yahoo-I would be more than happy to help out a fellow knitter get her baby steps over with!!! Good luck, and have fun with it!!!

I'm not sure about online guides but if you don't find one that you like try to find I Can't Believe I'm Knitting published by Leisure Arts or Learn to Knit in Just One Day by Jean Leinhauser. I got mine at a local knitting shop but I think you can find them at Walmart actually. Start with short bamboo or plastic needles and inexpensive yarn to practice. The new fashion yarns are sort of hard to work with just learning stitches. Good luck and Enjoy!!!

Here's a printable "e-book" called "How to Become an Expert Knitter" : http://www.studioknits.com/booktoc.htm , which you might find helpful.

I personally prefer watching videos, like those on KnittingHelp.com.

http://knitting.about.com/
This site has a lot of info, in pictures and text.
You can print out all the info if you want.

But you might be much better of to buy a book.
There are several very nice beginners books and some follow-up books new on the market.
