They didnt disgrace themselves because what a person does is his/her business and should in no way, in a civilised society, be under the media spotlight and public scrutiny.
let's do a simple analogy:
You party, drink, made friends, do good, do bad or whatever you like. So whatever happens to you, good or bad, you will have to face the censequence, right?
But there's this nosey neighbour of yours that constantly keeps a tight lookout at whatever you do and tells your friends, your teachers, and even strangers about your every action.... critising your every move.
So your teacher, your friends, and even strangers come together 1 day and conclude: "this person is a disgrace to us..."
From another angle, i'd see the nosey neighbour as 'back stabbers' or 'gossip spreader'.... they are the media.
I'd also see the teacher, friends, strangers as 'people who are too free in their lives', people who uses other's actions to validate their own worth (as if they are so confident that no one is secretly gossiping behind themselves).... they are the everyday people like you and I.
Moral ofthe story: Reflect from within, to prove you are not a disgrace to yourself, NOT reflect from others to validate your 'grace and purity'.
Also, Never allow yourself to be a victim of a 'second party' who seeks pleasure from flushing gossips/distorted information into your ears (see, hear, speak no evil), thus polluting your mind unconsciously.
Third, DONT JUDGE people. Please don't. Rather, its wiser to judge our own actions, speech and thoughts every single minute and second of our lives.
*My personal views.

They are not a disgrace to all women; however 3 of them are interchangeable products created by corporate entertainment and the other is socialite who became famous from an illegal porn tape, nice.
Unfortunately they are role models for many young girls today and they do set a bad example for young women, so in that way you have a very valid point bringing this to discussion on this forum.
But more fortunately for us they are a sign of times that are fading fast with the end of the Bush/GOP era comes the end of the "were country" and "I support my president no matter what," and also the end of little Prince Dubya and Princesses Hilton riding free in the land of their daddy's kingdoms at least in the pop culture and the political spectrum... and good riddance to them! they all sucketh.

I don't think they are a disgrace, because it's well known every woman is different. The (GIRLS) have not grown up yet, and they have the extra money to do whatever the want with it, so they do. One day, they will grow up, for everyone it takes something different. Women their age do the type of stuff they do every day, everywhere. The only reason they are broadcasted is because of who they are. These women also do the things they do, for the attention, It's well known that most of America will pay attention to negativity, before they will the positive things in life.

I, see that this is a time openess and objectivity is what is needed here. Paris Hilton, as I have seen her portrayed in the media could easily be a shame to womenhood, still we do not know what goes on behind closed doors, the same goes for the rest. I mean how do we know if they have Cheerios or Sugar Frosted Flakes for breakfast.
To me Paris Hilton is spoiled.
Britney Spears was overcome by so much negitivity it was no wonder she went around the twist. People constantly taking potshots at her and her motherhood.
Lindsay Lohan may have been able to make better decisions, yet let's give her time to really mature.
Tara Reed I have no idea who she is.
I just don't want to be judgemental because when I was in my 20s I was pretty wild myself.

Hmmm . . . but they get a lot of hassel from the media for their actions don't they? I spose, yes they are (but I'd say a disgrace to humanity - it's a pathetic way to behave irrespective of gender) but then they do often get flak for the way they behave, which is kinda like social reinforcing that their behaviour isn't responisble or tolerated. And, personally, I think it's really important we, or youth, have role models they can ;learn from, e.g. they went to rehab, prison, whatever. It's better than everyone in the media leading a perfectly innocent life and not demonstrating the problems we can face (and maybe that they are just dumb fools and not really worthy of their status as an idol).
So yeah, I guess they are but I don't think it's as terrible as it may seem on the surface.

I think those young ladies show how too much fame, money, and free time can negatively affect people, men or women. Remember how Elvis was so popular and rich, but he let his hedonistic ways destroy him? Or look at rock stars with so much fame and fortune and then they turn around and overdose on drugs. These girls are much like them. They are in the spotlight all the time so they use self destructive behaviors to deal with stress. I think that their behavior would probably be more normal if they weren't in the spotlight all the time.

Well, on one hand i'd say a disgrace to themselves.. and on the other, yes, women like that are a disgrace to the rest of us.
Sadly, the media's desperate attempts to portray women like this as role models for young girls has slowly been taking effect. It's noticable that younger and younger girls are beginning to dress like sluts to impress their peers, which is outrageous. Society is so backwards.

Most people aren't foolish enough to view women as a whole as being like those girls. They do disgust me but I know that not all women are like them. I don't like that they are the roll models for our children and they should be ashamed of their own behavior but really they are just a disgrace on themselves.

There are all types of women in this world. Just because they are talented or moneyed their actions get the media attention. They are not a disgrace to women. The media is behaving disgracefully by making money at their cost.......

No because they are girls, not women. If they still behave the way they do now when they are 30+, then they are only disgraces to themselves, not all women. I feel sorry for them really.
