The 80s

First of all, I have to say to the asker that you're an evil person for making us choose. OK, although it hurts a bit to say it, it's gotta be the 80s. In every single category, rock, punk, rap, jazz, there are at least 10 songs that could be played today and fit right into context and I don't mean nostalgically but it would just fit right in.

There are whole films whose soundtracks are really just 80s music ie. Gross Point Blank and The Wedding Singer. Unfortunately, I think the bean counters really figured something out in the 80s that keeps us from hearing a lot of new music because record companies just keep recycling the formula. ...Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Ciao for now.

The 70's and 80's. The music moved you & you could understand the words to the songs.

The sixties!! You have got to love The Beatles!!! I know I do, and also you can't forget the Stones, Eric Clapton, Creme, Dillan, Jim Morrison & Doors, Hendrix, Who, Animals, Kinks, etc., etc., etc.,! I think the 60's did more to bring music along than any decade since!
Good Question!!!!

Hi Bro, I think the 70's had the best music as in hard rock bands and classic rock bands. Not the disco type music though.
