For Azel et al.)
Because it is the first act of violation done on half of so many INNOCENT children.
And if that can let you cold,I don't know what else in Society wrong doings can matter to you.
I have great hope in women instincts but they seem coarsened for some interests

Edit 4 Kurious Kitty_The question should be why America is obsessed with children's foreskins? Specifically,to remove them even when they are healthy part of the equipment a child is born.I am appalled by this obsession and cruelty on Innocent BABYS' bodypart.Children who don't have a voice, defense in their OWN body Integrity.
I had to ask in more than one Forum,as it seems all I get is only opinions and/or positions from adults, but few take on the side of the child's own choices.Negativity.The foreskins seem in this mentality environment up to other individual's opinions/choices,except to the Lifelong rightful owners/dispossessed,as if their body "choice" was as a given name and not a Nature's gift(taken away).
You should leave what is not yours or mine, but your child's.
It isn't my wish the common Injustice of somebody elses (as you?) imposed "wish" on others.
If you wish to sell your kids or brand them in any other way I don't think Society should endorse or condone your wishes

Why are you so obsessed with foreskins? Specifically, the foreskins of other people's sons? And why did you answer MY question about looking for my dad's birth relatives with an answer about circumcision? Get over it already. You seem obsessed with this issue, as you have asked the same ? at least 3 times. Deal with your own kids as you wish. I'll deal with mine.

many mothers and fathers circumcised completely healthful toddlers because of the fact they believe that it fairly is air purifier, will preclude infections, will preclude penile maximum cancers, will preclude STD's etc. some circumcised because of the fact maximum human beings do, so their newborn should not be made relaxing of, because of the fact they think of it seems extra suitable etc. it is finished in purely Jewish and Muslim religions for religious motives. No different faith can declare it as something their faith believes in. They the two circumcise for an identical reason and that's that God informed all Jews to circumcise their sons to tutor the covonant between them and him. -Connor

Many people are convinced that having no foreskin means the boy will have less of chance of collecting germs (and therefore, diseases).

However, not everyone does it for health reasons. Jews and some sects of Christianity do it because the Bible (which many believe to be the word of God) tells them to.

And, perhaps, some people do it without question because that's how it has always been done. (Not a good reason, but we all know many traditions keep going on for this very reason.)

That is a good question and obviously controversial. I have heard both sides of the story. I don't think that altering a child is your choice thought. That includes piercings. Let them do it latter on. A friend in high school opted for circumcision although I think it was peer pressure in the locker room. At any rate, it was his choice.

I wouldn't say it's "wrong", but I do find it highly unnecessary.

I don't buy the whole sanitary argument, just teach the boy how to clean it and it will take him an extra whopping 30 seconds in the shower every morning.

Also, there are a lot of nerve endings in the foreskin..so he will be thankful later in life ;)

I actually agree with you. As you've said, it is a permanent thing and there is no going back once it is done. So, yeah, I do think that it should be their own desicion. If, once they get to the age where they can decide and they understand whats going on and what's gonna happen, then yes go ahead!

My personal opinion of circumcision is that it's an unnecessary proceedure. All that needs to be done is to teach the boy as he grows how to take care of and bathe himself properly. Girls have to go through this too. It's just that we have different parts that are cleaned in different ways. If boys receive this education, why then, should circumcision be necessary?

Because whether you like it or not, people have been doing it for generations without harm coming towards their children. There is absolutely nothing wrong with circumcision and in fact, that is the norm in most places in the world.

Also whether you like it or not, Christianity is everywhere. The bible says that every child after one of the significant males (can't remember his name right now but it is in the first 4 books of the old testament) will be circumcised. Since then (or at least after the book was published in the holy texts) MOST male children have been circumcised at birth.

There is nothing wrong with circumcision. If your a church-goer, God told us to. If your not, then it is a tradition over 2000 years old and possibly older (not to knowledgeable on older cultures). Kinda hard to stop that one.

My question to you is, why does it matter so much to you?

I agree with you on this issue. I refused to have my son circumcised because I think the practice is cruel and unnecessary. I decided that someday my son can decide for himself if he wants to stay intact or get circumicised. It's his body so it should be his choice.

None of my 3 young sons have been circumcised because I believe it is genital mutilation. Why, if it's caused such an uproar about women being mutilated, it is still being done to helpless male babies, oh I forgot, to prevent future problems, what a crock. Alot of people get appendicitis too, so maybe we should get our babies to have appendectomies? Think about it.......
The only cause for doing so is when there is a medical problem that warrants it.
For those that say there is nothing wrong with circumcision, yes, complications are rare but they do happen, such as uncontrolled bleeding, damage to the penis and in worst case scenario, the penis becoming so damaged with circumcision that it has to be removed entirely.
Religious reasons, fair enough. But why listen to a book that's thousands of years old. Times change.
As for the Aids issue, my hubby isn't circumcised and there aren't any problems with that issue or any other health issues and he's taught our sons to keep themselves clean.
And lastly, God created men with a foreskin, so who are we to destroy what God has created?
