Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins.
The amino group of one amino acid faces the carboxyl group of another. The H of one amino acid and OH of another are joined to form a water molecule and a peptide bond is formed between the two. This process goes on and after the joining of 100 or so amino acids a proteins molecule is formed. This is done by a petidyl transferase enzyme.
