This is due to upgrading stereo equipment and rationalising the rest. Note that the Technics is a single disc player, while the Goodmans plays from a 6-disc cartridge. Both work fine. The Goodmans has given sterling service for nearly 20 years!!

And is the one I get rid of worth anything second hand? Is the Goodmans some kind of collectors item?!

From the point of view of sound quality, keep the Technics. It's not brilliant, but it's still way better than the Goodmans.

For Goodmans kit to last 20 years is something of a miracle! It is generally regarded as 'throwaway' equipment and isn't collectable by anyone, I'm afraid...

neither will be worth much second hand, as you can get a new one for £20...try and sell one on ebay.
keep the one if so, that plays cd-r and cd-rw discs..
