This is a decision that you should decide for yourself. I would go with my gut, whatever I love doing, and whatever I imagine myself doing and enjoying it.

What about studying the philosophy of history? How history is recorded, who decides what facts to include & leave out, the different types of biases present in historical accounts, and the thinking & methodology behind the recording of history.

Or you could do the history of philosophy, though that seems pretty dry to me. It would probably get you a job as a 100-level philosophy teacher, though.

Option #3 is to read some Nietzsche and instill yourself with a Will to Power. Once you've done that, WILL yourself to do a double major! Overcome those artificial and self-imposed limits that trick you into thinking you can't do a double-major! Become the uber-teacher!!

Yup, you need to decide this, if I was you I would do some research into both of them. Like what kind of jobs would you be able to get with one or the other, which do you think you would enjoy better, which one pays better, has more of a demand for, etc. They have websites where you can lookup the average pay rates for certain professions, I just can't think of it right now, maybe I'll add it later if I can remember.

Good luck in whatever you choose though, both are good fields, personally I would go with Philosophy :)

I would suggest History because that is where the great philosophers are at and then maybe later take philosophy. Either way some type of history is going to have to be studied.

How about Ancient Philosophy? You will most likely find that the History Major is more condusive to wide career options.

mmmm
If u like both then first do which u like more
and then decide if u think u can go with other also:)

Knowladge is boundless
so u can learn anything u want
u urself cn guess what is best for you
or what u should read first

for me If I have to choose frm these two options I will go for history first

History, simply because it is truth. Philosophy to me seems to be a waste of the brain God gave us. :)

If you are asking other people what you should major in then you should definitely pick history.
