Do you think that a couple can be happy together when they are different types of people, with not alot in common, but their parents have arranged for them to be married and they have no choice or say in this marriage. Do you think that in cultures where this happens that women are especially disadvantaged by this or do you think that it is the same for both men and women? Do you think it could be a good thing? What do you think?

The idea of arrange marriage is dumb. It is more prevalent in South Asian Countries like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan. Lot of times arrange marriages end up in disaster.

I think it can be a good thing IF the parent's actually sat down together and laid out a basic plan on how the young couple was to live - not to gain anything (through dowries, etc.) for themselves...
Personally (as a Canadian) - I don't think that they can work at all.

i dont agree wt arranged marriages...
in a way, its not approprite...
