The major contributor to the World Bank is the USA, so not surprisingly it is in the gift of the President to select the leader. It goes without saying that the Bank is used Politically to help friends and punish enemies of the USA.....In which case you need someone who is close to the President..if you didn't, then God Forbid you get someone who is independant. It just shows how devious, and hypocritical many leaders are.....As the saying goes to his girlfriend, 'What attracted you to the Powerful, Rich, Mr Wolfowitz?'
