First, you must know what hypothesis is all about. It is a tentative statement put forward to test the relationship between dependent and indepenent variables. Null hypothesis is the hypothesis of indifference i. e. there no significant relationship between the two identified variables and therefore the theory should be rejected if eventually the calculated value is greater than the table or critical value. Alternate hypothesis is the opposite. This 66% is what i dont understand, pls review or modify your question again. Gd luck.

This is a Paired Data test. Therefore, the null hypothesis is always: mean (after - before) = 0. I assume you want to see if the commericals make a positive difference. Therefore the null hypothesis is: mean (after - before) > 0. Test T: t = (14.66 - 0) / (5.21/SQRT 15) = 10.898 Critical T: degree of freedom = 15 - 1 = 14 Look up T value in a table (mine is at the office, so I can't do it for you.) If Test T > Critical T (and I assume it is), null is rejected. This means there is a positive influence from the political commercials.

insufficient data

66% is a ratio or percentage and not a theory or observation

the scientific method begins with observations
the observations give rise to theories
from the theories a testable hypothesis is generated
from the testing, results confirm or deny the hypothesis (and give credence or discredit the theory)

66% has very little to do with this process apart from being a mathematical expression useful in some settings
