Hi, Nervous.
The truth is that nothing we strangers say will truly assuage your concern because you're a first time mom. It's just how it goes and I was the same as were probably most of us. :)
At 5 months, have you already had your first ultrasound? If not, you probably should be soon. Are you having regular visits with your obstetrician? Your best and easiest course of action is to make a doctor's visit and have them check for the babies' heartbeats. An ultrasound will also put your fears to rest.
Even though I had healthy pregnancies, I worried until the last moment that something freakish would happen in the final weeks and the babies wouldn't make it. ... and I'm a very NON nervous Nellie. So, just try to stay calm and recognize that all babies develop and move around at their own pace. Some people say that babies move quicker if there's little room (because the babies will fight for space) whereas others say they move more if there is a lot of room (because there's room to move!). So, you see...you'll get answers all over the map. Put your mind at rest and try to see a doctor when you can. :)
Good luck and congratulations.

I have 11 year old twin girls and yes they were my first.. how lucky you are. to answer your question.. YES you should have felt them move..
The thing is though.. you are probably feeling them move you just dont realize it. Sometimes it feels like a gas bubble or a tummy flip.. if you know what im talking about. .. lay on your belly for a bit.. no it wont hurt them but it is a sure way to feel them move. I know.. it will be very uncomfortable but i promise it will work. If you are worried though.. just go to your dr or the e.r. and tell them that you havent felt them move and you are getting very worried about it. they will prolly do an untrasound.. i would love to see the pics if you get one done.. oh yes.. and congrats on the twins!! (personally i think we were lucky.. see.. we didnt know what it was like to take care of one baby .. so i didnt realize how hard the twins were untill i had my son(single birth) 2 years later. be happy you are having the twins first!!!

It starts as just a tiny flutter. Would you feel a butterfly in your tummy? Ask your doctor anytime you have any question. Do not ever hesitate...you will not be the first or the last to ask any question in the world. Your doctor should want you to feel safe and secure.
It's probably about time for an ultrasound. You will feel better when you SEE their widdle biddy hearts beating!
Praying for your and babies health...
Peace be with you!

With my first and only pregnancy I didnt feel movement till close to 6 months and I only had one, so there was plenty of room.
As long as your doctor isnt worried then you shouldnt be either.

If you really want to know if everything is OK, go and see your doctor and take the ultrasound.
Then you will absolutely know if everything is OK.
