If so, why did you feel hopeless and what did you do about it?
I am studying a degree and I have felt challenged to meet the demands expected of me, although i realise I have some potential.

There were many times I did! Only two jobs in my life time offered excellent training. The rest of my other training was never called training. So when people are expecting something from you that needs to be done, and completed by a certain time, and you just could not get it in on time when asked to bring in the finished paper work. The big hopeless feeling kicks in, mind scrabble to help myself figure out something by using my common sense and just have to get aggressive to look into notes, study things quick, asking for help, and only to not get the person in trouble who was supposed to train you. I was being questioned why is all the confusion about? I told my supervisor there is none, I just don't understand some problems. My job description was one thing, but when I found out not only was I doing my job, but the woman who so called had trained me. Here I am clueless I was doing her job, that was the training, and didn't understand, completly threw me off. Here I am new to the company and if I complain, what does that show them. My position was not clear enough, two interviews by different people, because I was told by the person who interviewed me the second time whom was the person training me to do her own job, not that much difference to what I was doing, but thank god for my office manager skills from all the years I worked as an office manager. The main boss was confused because not only was I doing my job, but her right hand girl's job because I was told that was part of my work description to do, to meet a certain quota for the week.

When I was receiving training from this certain person she would just be to busy on the company phone talking to her boyfriend, and or other co-workers, while I was trying to figure out what is exactly was they want me to do for this one company, to many things that just didn't make any sense. I gave a two week notice to quit, because I just couldn't see myself work for an unprofessional company, without any discipline, but demanded so much to be done, and to perfection. I learned to do my job in three day's, and will never allow anyone to ever take advantage of me this way again.

If you are not getting proper training or you are told to do something you were not hired to do, question it. Let them know it was not in your job description. When you are very young companies like to take advantage, and will push a lot on you to see how much you can handle, and offer you what they don't want to pay someone with experience, they are willing to hirre to under pay you instead of keeping someone who has been doing it for a long time, to let them go instead of promoting them to grow with the company, to save company money. So they train you for the job that belongs to someone else to let them go to keep you instead. Something they will be working on doing to you next, so a company that is sneaky will eventually let you go without no remorse and yet they want people to put their two week notice to quit...When you think your in your really out, do your homework before you say yes, and if you are not happy have a back up plan to get a better job that offers oportunities to grow with the company...

This is a question why it is important when they ask why do you want to work for us, and let them know you want to grow with them, and make sure they offer medical benefits. This is very important. As they demand from us we should be offered the best.

Yes. I spent over 4 years at a job that I just could not live with. For a while I thought I had "no choice," I could not do anything about the "problem," so I got stuck in this rut and couldn't dig myself out, staying much longer in the job than was feasibly healthy for me. The problem was that I wanted to do the best job I could, and the others were very concerned when I did a good job and they got caught looking like slobs. So, they started "pulling me in" to these really interesting bashing meettings. I finally got fed up. I was just a grunt, couldn't do anything about it, had a lot of problems with the "authority figures" in the company not being very bright about what was going on. So I quit. On the spot. Then went back to college for the second time in my adult life to finish what I started 10 years ago the first time I went to college so I can get a job where I have the power to negate people like that in the future, and bring real advocacy to the people I served as clients.

I've felt hopeless in a couple of jobs I've had. More often than not, other employees were part of the reason. Too much drama and office politics! Unfortunately, I've never been in any position to implement any positive changes within these companies, and I realized I had little or no chance for advancement.... so I eventually left and started freelancing. I like working for me!

Because I am only there for the money and the staff constantly whine about their personal lives-bad menstruation, husbands not paying for dentists, bipolar disorder, recovery from drug addiction, insomnia, cheating boyfriends, using guys for sex, life on the reserve, rude waitresses in pubs, need for pot, general gossip on other people's attitudes, disability payments from the government-so I want to get some people fired. I can't so I will leave when I get the chance. Not a big deal. Think my life is bad, one of my mother's friends has cancer. They can take this job and shove it.

Ever watched a child die for want of a cure, or the application of a simple proceedure?
Ever confronted the ignorance or intolerance of the uneducated masses, or of religious zealots, and been powerless to abort Their choices?
Ever watched Your potential being stifled by the rank incompetence of those who function only within the vacuum of a stratified bureaucracy?
If You have, then You will appreciate My answering "YES"! to Your question.

Life's tough. I like to go home and listen to all my favorite songs, and watch some favorite movies, and then listen to Dr. Phil. The only thing that's gonna make you better about your life, is seeing some poor chaps miserable life being broadcasted for all to see. That should definitley hit the spot!

Yes. I feel that way now. It's because I've been there so long & at this point a lot of it has to do with co-dependancy. I have a lot more to offer, but there are other factors keeping me there, too.
