hey.. surat is jem in dark!
it has lot of potential to grow into a metro.. amazin industries.. lots of money!! well conected with other major hubs (roads, railways)...
but only one problem..
the life style of ppl(conventional/old fashioned).. the orthodox mentality & lack of cosmo culture..
these three factors can turn any town in a sizzlin metro..

dont worry.. it'l soon change!!
just open a software company there & u'l c the difference!!

Who said Surat is a national Hub?
Gujjus know how to make money.Period.
But it has recovered phenomenally from epidemic diasters in the past.
It will remain so .

Surat is not a national hub, secondly Gujaratis lack civic sense and it is displayed at places in which Gujjus are in a majority.
Money cannot bring social development. We need some degree of civic sense which is unfortunately absent in Gujarati community.

What do mean by "backward in Social Deveopment"? (by the way, it is development)

I also don't agree with the guy who said bad stuff about guju people. I am from Surat and I have seen this world. Surati guju are different from other guju and other indians.
I don't understand what you mean by this backward. Please explain further.
